Introduction
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how Text2Resume ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information in connection with our website located at text2resume.com and all related services, features, and content (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Policy. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the Service immediately.
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
(a) Account and Identity Information. When you register for an account, we collect your name, email address, profile image, and identifiers from third-party authentication providers (such as Google or LinkedIn). We also record account activity timestamps.
(b) User Content. We collect and store the content you create or submit through the Service, including resume text, formatting preferences, version history, job posting URLs and descriptions you provide for tailoring purposes, and any other materials you input.
(c) AI Interaction Data. When you use our AI-powered features, we collect the messages you exchange with the AI assistant, tool invocations and their outputs, and associated session metadata.
(d) Payment Information. We use Stripe, Inc. as our third-party payment processor. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We retain transaction identifiers, amounts, currency, transaction status, and credit purchase and usage records as provided by Stripe.
(e) Device and Usage Data. We automatically collect certain information when you access the Service, including IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, referring URLs, pages viewed, features used, and other interaction data. For unauthenticated visitors, we may assign anonymous session identifiers.
(f) Feedback and Communications. We may collect information you voluntarily provide through surveys, feedback forms, support requests, and email subscription preferences.
How We Use Your Information
We process your personal information for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including processing your content through AI models
- To process transactions and administer your account
- To communicate with you, including sending transactional notifications and, where you have opted in, promotional communications
- To analyze usage trends and improve the Service
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity
- To comply with applicable legal obligations, legal process, or enforceable governmental requests
- To enforce our Terms of Service and protect the rights, property, or safety of Text2Resume, our users, or the public
Disclosure to Third-Party AI Providers
The Service relies on third-party artificial intelligence providers to deliver its core editing and content generation features. In the course of providing these features, your User Content and AI Interaction Data may be transmitted to and processed by the following providers:
- Anthropic, PBC (Claude models)
- OpenAI, L.L.C. (GPT models)
- Google LLC (Gemini models)
Data transmitted to these providers is subject to their respective terms of service and data processing agreements. We contractually require appropriate safeguards, but we do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies independently.
Other Third-Party Service Providers
We engage the following categories of third-party service providers, each of which may receive or process personal information on our behalf:
- Payment Processing: Stripe, Inc.
- Authentication: Google OAuth, LinkedIn OAuth
- Hosting and Infrastructure: Vercel, Inc.
- Analytics: PostHog, Inc.; Google Analytics; Ahrefs Pte. Ltd.
These providers are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. In general:
- Account and User Content data is retained for the duration of your account and deleted or anonymized within 30 days of account deletion, unless otherwise required by law.
- Payment and transaction records may be retained for up to seven (7) years to comply with tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
- Analytics and device data is retained in accordance with each provider's applicable retention schedule.
- Anonymous session data is automatically purged after 30 days of inactivity.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Strictly Necessary: Required for authentication, session management, and security.
- Analytics: Used by Google Analytics and PostHog to collect aggregated usage data.
- Functional: Used to remember your preferences and settings across sessions.

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
International Data Transfers
Your personal information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.
